dirt is dirt presents…

dirt is dirt is proud to present it’s very first exhibition of curated work December 31 – January 22 at Paradigm Gallery and Studio, 2020 South Street in Philadelphia PA. A special reception with the artists will be held on January 13 from 6 – 10 pm at Paradigm.

The curators of the exhibition, dirt is dirt founders Dan Haddigan and Kevin McWilliams, seek to capture the essence and the aesthetic of the online art magazine in a live, exciting gallery experience. Works from 14 different artists picked by Haddigan and McWilliams will be featured in a energetic, salon style show that seeks to overload but not overwhelm. Viewers will be presented with a sensory experience of 2- and 3-Dimensional work from some of the most exciting and up-and-coming artists in the area. In keeping true to the site’s mission, the show features emerging artists who are currently “in the middle” – established, but maybe not quite receiving of the recognition they deserve.

In addition to presenting a quality show with top-notch artists, the show will also function to introduce dirtisdirt.com to the world, essentially acting as the official launch event. Dirt is dirt is a free-form, online, submissions-based art magazine. Dirt is dirt accepts submissions from artists all over the world in a wide variety of mediums, then selects their favorites to publish in a bright, clear, frequently updated format. Each issue feature two artists selected by the dirt is dirt curatorial committee. The featured artists will be profiled on the website in the form of interviews, studio visits, videos, image galleries and other special features.

In addition to our artist features, dirt is dirt publishes articles, reviews, photos, videos, critiques, interviews and more, hand picked from our submissions.

Kevin McWilliams is a photographer and artist based in Philadelphia. His work has been shown at the F.E.U.L. Collection, Pageant Gallery, and Part Time Studios in Philadelphia. He has curated shows for Sol Mednick Gallery in Philadelphia as well. Dan Haddigan has shown at Fleisher-Ollman Gallery, Vox Populi, and the New Wilmington Art Alliance. He has also curated shows independently. He lives and works in Philadelphia as well.

We hope you will join us January 13 at Paradigm Gallery and Studios for a memorable night of art, good times, and refreshments.
